How to keep a moving inventory

Number every box as you pack it. Boxdex does this for you, starting at 1.
List the contents while the box is open. Short is fine: “mugs, kettle, coffee.”
Assign a destination room. That’s where the box goes in the new home, not where it came from.
Print the label right away so the number on the box matches the list.

Search across everything: type an item, a room or a box number.
See totals by room, and filter the list to one room.
Download a backup file to move the list to another device.
With Pro: check boxes off as they’re loaded, arrive and get unpacked; spot a box that was loaded but never arrived; print the whole list by room; and export to CSV for Excel or Google Sheets.

Does it work for storage?

Yes. Rooms can be anything: “Storage unit,” “Attic,” “Holiday bins.” Pro lets you keep separate inventories so the move and the storage unit don’t mix.
